Our Star Meets the Shaman: Pluto Cazimi in Aquarius

The star that keeps you alive made a big shift today. From Capricorn, the Sun entered Aquarius. It's the fixed air – and the things that don’t change when we take the really big view. Remember Georgia O’Keeffe’s cloud paintings? She kept going back to them, in two distinct periods of her career -- both after the age of 60. One of those paintings, made in her 80s, when she had severe macular degeneration, was her largest ever – eight feet high and 24 feet wide. If you’ve ever been to the National Gallery of Art, you’ve seen it.

Sky Above the Clouds IV  is definitely the work of someone who was looking for herself. And then looking again, and again. O’Keeffe had seven of her 10 core planets in fixed signs. None of them were in Aquarius -- but she’s a great example of how we can use the fixed energy that's live-streaming into your Aquarius house(s) and mine over the next month – to be unwavering in our commitment to develop an authentically big view of these times.

When I say that, I’m thinking especially of the challenges. We know they’re all around us, so we might as well be as committed to seeing them from different perspectives – and finding the ones that inspire us to grow and evolve. Tomorrow’s a good day to start. The Sun will be within a degree of a conjunction to Pluto all day – and Venus and Mercury will both be connecting with the centaur Nessus, the one who activates the imprint the patterns of abuse and domination have made on our lives.  We'll definitely have plenty of opportunities to shift our experience with the power of big view.

Early Tuesday morning, that Sun-Pluto conjunction will be exact. It's the first one of our lives to happen in Aquarius. You know how it is with Pluto. Whatever can’t transform  is going to die (which is actually the biggest transformation of all) – and whatever is left will be deeply regenerated.

We haven’t had a Sun-Pluto conjunction in an air sign since 1982. It was the 10th and final one. Just stop and think for a moment about how your relationships, and your idea of what’s just and fair, changed between 1972 and 1982. Now it’s time to let  your ideas of the future be transformed into something more powerful.

Next week’s Aquarius New Moon begins the Year of the Snake. Shedding and transformation are where it’s at in 2025. And regeneration is what it’s for.

Tomorrow is a big day for our country, and our world.  I'll be holding a focus on big view – and my willingness to let go of the illusion that’s fostered a thousand times a day in this world, the one that I am powerless. I know you will be too, and that inspires me greatly.
